The Build South Dakota Award (Category III) is given to the best highway-heavy-utility construction project in the state over $2,000,000. The award recognizes state-of-the art advancement, excellence in project management and client service, innovation in construction techniques or materials, community relations and sensitivity to the environment. Reede Construction, Inc. was awarded the Build South Dakota Award for a project on Highway 85 in Butte County. The project resulted in the replacement of an antiquated span of highway, with grading, storm sewer replacement, curb & gutter construction, traffic signals, lighting, PCC pavement, bridge deck overlay, approach slab construction and permanent signing. Winners of the Build South Dakota Award also receive a $500 check to award to a local charity of their choice. Reede Construction, Inc. has chosen the Neil Reede Locker Room Project c/o NSU Foundation in Aberdeen to receive the $500 donation. The Associated General Contractors of South Dakota, Inc., Highway-Heavy-Utilities Chapter is a statewide trade association incorporated in 1935. The AGC represents nearly 300 contractors, suppliers who build the roads, bridges and water/wastewater infrastructure in the state.
